Reach the trailhead by train to Toyohashi Station, then take a local bus toward the eastern suburbs; the final approach is a short taxi or walk from the last stop. Drivers can follow Route 1 east from central Toyohashi and park near the lower trail entrance. The journey from Nagoya takes roughly ninety minutes by limited-express train plus bus connection.
Best Time to Visit
Spring brings fresh green foliage and early azaleas, while October and November deliver reliable maple color. Summer mornings are cooler on the summit than in the city, though afternoon thunderstorms are possible. Winter visits are feasible on clear days but require micro-spikes after snowfall.

The main loop trail climbs steadily through mixed cedar and broadleaf forest before opening onto a grassy summit with 360-degree views. Many hikers add a short detour to a small shrine halfway up that marks an old pilgrimage route. Bring binoculars for distant cityscapes and, on especially clear days, glimpses of the Pacific horizon. Allow three to four hours round-trip for the moderate route, with plenty of flat spots for a picnic lunch.
