How to Get There
From Canberra, drive southwest via Cotter Road to the Cotter Campground, then continue on Brindabella Road. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended for the final unsealed section to the Licking Hole Creek crossing. The road is closed after heavy snow or during extreme fire danger.
Best Time to Visit
Late spring through early autumn offers the most reliable access and pleasant temperatures. Trout fishing peaks from November to March. Winter visits are possible for experienced walkers but require snow chains and awareness of sudden weather changes.
