The mountain sits between the villages of Colunga and Caravia. Drivers can reach the trailhead by taking the AS-257 from the A-8 motorway, then following local lanes toward La Riera. A small parking area beside a cattle gate marks the start; arrive early on weekends as space is limited. Public transport is impractical—taxis from Ribadesella or Colunga are the only alternative.

The Hike to the Summit

From the gate a clear track climbs through meadows dotted with apple orchards and stone-walled brañas. After 45 minutes the path narrows into a rocky ridge offering the first sea views. The final 20 minutes are steeper but never technical; most hikers reach the trig point in 90 minutes.
