Public buses run from Cangas de Onís to nearby villages, but a car or arranged taxi is usually required for the final stretch to the start of the ascent.

The standard route from Pandébano gains roughly 800 meters over four to five hours one way. Expect loose scree, occasional hand-scrambling sections, and a final ridge traverse that requires steady footing.
