Booth Hill rises modestly in the southern Brindabella Ranges, offering a peaceful bushwalk with expansive vistas over the Australian Capital Territory’s rural valleys and distant peaks. Unlike busier Canberra lookouts, this summit delivers solitude amid stringybark and snow-gum woodland, where eastern grey kangaroos graze at dawn and wedge-tailed eagles circle thermals.

Getting There

Access begins from the sealed Boboyan Road south of Tharwa. Turn onto the unsealed Booth Hill Fire Trail, suitable for two-wheel-drive vehicles in dry weather. Park at the signed trailhead and follow the gentle 4 km return track that climbs steadily through eucalypt forest to the rocky summit cairn. The route is well marked but carries no facilities, so carry water and navigation.
