The mountain sits between the towns of Pola de Siero and Villaviciosa. Most visitors drive via the AS-267 or AS-268 roads and park at the small lay-by near the Collado de Llamero. From there a clear footpath climbs steadily through meadows and light woodland. Public transport is limited, so a rental car or taxi from nearby Oviedo (about 25 minutes) is the most practical option.
Both routes stay on obvious trails marked with occasional cairns; no special equipment is required in dry conditions.
At the summit, a simple stone marker and 360-degree views reward the effort. On fine days you can spot the Bay of Biscay to the north and the higher Cantabrian peaks to the south.
